Reflective statement of Aural Terrain
Our further development was to stream live video from the other room, with 3 separate cameras capture chest, throat and joint respectively in another room. The mean time, live signal was being sent to projector as 3 sub-screens. For a purpose of manipulating our sound visible by showing parts of the body where produce the sound rather than hide behind the white screen. One of the camera would be moving around to detect other parts of body may produce sound, as well as capture live video with a ridiculous angel that telling people where about was the sound coming from, the other 2 will keep still to filming particular parts of the body. For some reason, any more that 3 sounds would be cancel out each other, Or I can say such a messy and crack sound, which avoiding our initial intent of creating organic sound.
Conceptual statement of cinematic fluenea
The rail slider was inspired by skateboard as well as street culture. It was such an excitement of watching skateboarder to grind on the handrail. Our device aimed to make the audiences feel the passion of speeding on the handrails.
The concept of the device was turning single piece of handrail into a wonderful journey of the city where the routine and angel that people won’t walk on it. The front wheels and the back wheels were designed for fit in both square and round tracks as well as different widths or shapes of either handrail or edges of concrete by disassembling/assembling one of the side wheel.

The setup before performance
Until the day before the performance, we finally got the chance to practice in the chroma key room. Because the large space of the white screen was required, we have to sort out the space see if it is possible when exhibition.
The lunch box is the switches we gonna use in performance to manipulate the sound by different groups of piezo which attached onto throat(swallow), middle of chest(breathing), heart(heartbeat), joint(bone clicking). So we got 4 sounds and 10 combination. Jason will conduct and decide what sound goes in my mixer. I'll adjust sound level, tempo, as well as adding effect. Seb is the one who gonna perform behind the white screen.

Math and Art practical-process
Math and Art practical
I made this because the labyrinth was so called an unconscious drawing three thousand years ago. I am proving it can be made totally mathematical way. The tradition way of drawing labyrinth, there's drawback that it can't tell the how bend the curves are. The labyrinth looks like a mushroom is actually composed by only semi-circles, quarter-circles and straight lines. Each circle's radius equal to quantity of circles plus the radius of the smallest circle. Where as
radius of each circle=x*N+(x/2)
X stands for the smallest circle's radius or the width of the path, N stands for the quantity of circles.
For instance if you want draw a 7 circles labyrinth, we assume the width of the path is 30cm. The 7th circle's radius should be 30*7+15=225cm.
Throughout making the labyrinth, I found out 3 circular labyrinth, consists by 4 semi-circles at the top half, the smallest one's diameter determine the path width. All the semi-circles' center are on a fixed point. What I made a mistake was taking the radius as diameter of the smallest circle, thus the center of the labyrinth became 4 times of path's width instead of 3. Two and three quarter-circles on each side that connect the top 4 semi-circles. The side which got three quarter-circles' center is one side of the smallest semi-circle. The side which got two quarter-circles' center is the free end of the second semi-circle from inside.
This labyrinth was made by cupboard, so an additional holder is required to keep its shape.
The thoughts of the performance
Performance was not too bad, We got a bit problem before the performance, which our switches broke down. Thus we can't manipulate piezo disc individually. We plugged mic into mixer straightway, goes back to initial point what we got Wednesday. What we were worried about before the performance was the rubbing noise when we move around the piezo disc, as well as the feedback from the speaker. As the audience couldn't hear any body vibration. Fortunately, we still got a few sounds going on like swallow, heartbeat(amazing!)and breathing. What our plan was fade in each sound one by one, and get the pure organic listening experience. The performance was well scheduled by time line. Because of technique problem, the performance was of out of a rush, the fair fast heartbeat was because of we got no confidence the piezo disc would pick up the sound, as he runs right before the performance, i can see it from my beat counter, his heart beat jump up from 160 to 171 under a minute. The effects(filter, flange) was adding a bit variety, but also cover a bit organic sound.

Get the most out of Piezo disc
"In fact, sometimes piezo sensors are called contact microphones. Some common applications include acoustic guitar pickups and drum triggers, but there really is no reason why you couldn’t use piezo sensors anywhere that produces vibration (and therefore, sound)." by Dan Connor.
Because it only pick up the contact vibration, most of ambient sound can be avoided. It sometimes creat interesting lo-fi result. For instance attach under a piano .

Contact microphone
This guy really inspired me how to create different tones and pitches with same piezo disc. attach the piezo disc onto another piece of wood. I was just tried out with a piezo disc and a steel ruler, the longer the piece is, it produces kinda reverberation sound, the shorter the piece is it produces pure tone. It should be also relevant with the material itself. Will tried out tomorrow.

human instrument
The critic today was helpful. We got feedback which seb stand there still was boring, and not necessarily to be a human, it can be a sculpture. We realized person who wears it should be able to moving around, the piezo disc record the rubbing, breathing and joint noise from the body. Other people can touch, scratch, hit him. Himself also make noise by roll on the ground, rubbing on different surface.
What we did last night was Seb doing beat-box, I hit the piezo attached on his body alone the way, all the sound goes into the mixer, which amplifies it, as well as adding flange, echo or robot effects. But I feel the effects affects the sound too much, it got over it. However we want the ambient and organic sound to be produced from human instrument.

Initiall Idea of final performance
Attaching pizo disc on the throat of seb in terms of pick up the vibration, I add effects like reverb, echo, roll or whatever on to it. Which means I play him as my record. He produce random sound he could make.

Who says music has to be melodical and repetitive?
When all the noise goes harmonious, I think I realize what music communication is, what a real band will do. Each member of the team was maintaining the sound of the little device by their developed unique skills via experimental recording process. When nobody practice the performing before, as long as the sound was playing, they eventually fit in together with rich layers, each level of frequency can be differentiated as bass, mid and treble. It is not as significant difference of traditional music as the noise we imagine initially. I wouldn't even call it as noise, because it just hit the opposite way of traditional music, which feathers non-repetitive, unpredictable, sometimes even uncomfortable sound. I was clicking when my other mates went silence, because it sounds like a complete piece. It was found when my group was recording in the baby changing room, I took the mug with me. What will it sounds like when I swing around my copper disk in the mug? As a lot people doing the same device. How can I make my own skilled, reproducible sound instead of making random sound? That is the way I made my own device as instrument.
This kind of random but reproducible sound can extremely enrich the effect of DJ or other live musician. As they playing with the device, with switched or buttons which can change the value of resistors, the sound can be recorded as sampler while they can be added onto industrial music, even achieve a revolutionary new genre of music.

After presentation
Due to broken down of the laptop, I only got limited time to make my own track, which leads group file been done before my one came up. It's not the traditional way of music in any kind. As a contrast of hi-fi music. It trying to tell us the noise and silence is as important as the music. Thus melody or any rhythm should be avoided. It should produce a multi-layer and non-repetitive piece of track which bring people visual imagination. With deep either nature or industrial sound active people's privilege sense of locating the sound. Where about's the sound coming from. It recorded the noise we usually ignored. People have to sit down and listen. "how come I never notice that sound? That sound can be loop like that." At the end of presentation, I realized that I was restricted by music format too much, when I making the sound track, I always search the melody first, and loop them. It start rhythm which should be avoided.

The first day recording
It's like a extend ear, more than ten times sensitive than my ear. I could hear finger rubbing the surface. People talk in the library sounds shouting. The first day, we just test how the sound track goes, from studio to the library, ASB bank and come back.
When we walked down to most street, the sound of engine and people talking mixed up a constant noise. We want to seek special sound that we've never notice before.

Review of the Sound walk
The sound walk told us to listen the sound we easily ignored during daily life, we are not on listening purpose when went to such place, like car park, food court etc. There are so many amazing sound among the human and nature. The sound walk was a flexible route, it basically just the sound leads us wherever it wants us to go. Charlotte A. got a really good point on this, which covered peoples' eye, everyone walked in a queue, for a reason let people temporarily forgot their vision, instead, pay extra attention to the ambient sound to guess where they were.
The one that interested me the most was part of city council art program, which is a speaker playing constant noise hanging on the tree, sounds like water flowing up. I never find that out, even I walked past there a couple times.
I reckon the sound walk target listening skills that noise and quiet are as valid as music.

Review of Anechoic Chamber
Anechoic room was dead silence. I really can't get used to a place got -2db, as I hear lots of loud music. My ears seems to produce some noise, just like when I went to gigs, the ringing high frequency noise. The room is decorated by spiky sponge, even the ceiling and floor. As what professor of AU test in front of us, which put a speaker inside a box and put different material on top of it, include sponge, glass and wood. Sponge was typically being thought the one will absorb the sound, but the sound still came out after he put on. When the wood was put on, the sound was extremely reduced. I was thinking is that means the sound can go through the sponge, but the volume inside the box was decreased. On the other hand, the wood reflects the sound back, is it increased the volume inside as we couldn't hear from outside. For instance, if we are in a sponge room, could people from outside hear the noise we make inside, or if we are in a echo room, the noise is reflected back in, the volume is relative reduced to outside. Thus if we play constant volume of sound, which one actually got better noise isolation, for inside or outside?

Iphone app- carPark timer
Car park timer is inspired by people around me always got city council tickets, just because of forget to go back the car. It basically created 4 custom buttons, which are the most common parking limit time. It lets user start counting down by one click, thus avoid the textfield input or datepicker input that has to touch multiple times by just select the right time.
It was suppose to have two views, second view is a custom time picker that only generate all the other rare parking time limit. However that is the hardest part to do it for me. I get how to get the picker generating text, but couldn't worked out link the timer with the text respectively. One more issue is that the time instance. The timer runs faster as click different buttons.
I do think I lack of foundation knowledge of C and Objective C. When I looked up iphone SDK forum, there are lots of people help out other people figure what their issue are. Mostly not even give the code, just simply by demonstrate the concept.

The Illusionist from internation festival
"When Jacques tries to hide from the girl, he ends up in a theater, The Cameo, where Mon oncle (1958) by Jacques Tati is shown. "L'illusionniste"'s script was first written by Tati, whose figure and character was taken to create the main character Jacques Tatischeff (Tati's original name). " when I was watching the movie, the image quality is like old French or Japanese 2D sketch animation, with 3D post-production that create the unique image than the other 3D animation. I love to see the detail and texture of the view and object. It reflect "Tati's central issues (such as old-fashioned life-styles and values confronted by modern technology), his eye for detail, his pleasantly reserved humanity and his wonderful sense for comedic timing and subtle gags are all left intact by the careful makers of this gem."The movie basically told"the story of an ageing slight-of-hand magician -- near enough in both appearance and manner to be M. Hulot himself -- who takes his outdated stage act from Paris to the UK. An invitation to perform in the Hebrides isles brings him to Scotland where his magic and kindness inspires a naĆÆve young maiden to tag-along with him and the two find themselves in Edinburgh. " and rock star's took his show time. While he can only afford to rent a studio with painter, gymnast which reflect the poor situation that all artist have. They look nice and shiny on the stage, but poor and shabby when they practicing. The flesh eating rabbit is also another special point.
Cold Blood - Short Horror Film 2010 (18+Horror)
Review of Cold Blood.
The movie began with a women was trapped, in a warehouse by first point view, with a body lying besides her. First weird sound played, told the character has been in danger. Afterwords a high angle shot make her making them appear less powerful. Then a sound of motor with screaming played. What is that? Could be a car approaching, a chain saw, or something even worse? Then first clue appear. She saw a phone, but couldn't reach the line. The tension was playing well that audience worried about the character if she could make it. Bringing the audiences' emotion into the movie make them hold their breath. After the door opened, we now can see it's a invincible musk killed movie, which means the killed was appearing invincible and powerful compare with main character. The musk with blood is for making the killer looks visually horror, also present that the screaming was just done by him. All the chains hanging on the ceiling imply the body may be tortured. First clue come back that the killer found out the phone is been moved which prove the character is still alive and been hiding somewhere in the warehouse. Then first point of view of the character, the second time bring the audiences' in. The killer is approaching this way, will he find her? Must be. But when? Then the killer disappear from the view of character, we expect the killer gonna suddenly appear in the window with a extremely close up, just like he found us. But is wasn't happen, a shadow floating away, and a wired sound played. A bigger drop is building up! Then the "body" attacked him from the back, which somehow distract us from the tension that the killer gonna come toward us, we gotta a company! Then the "body" was killed by cutting through the throat without even defense, also indirect prove the power and cold blood of the killer. He will really kill you, not just looking scary. Second clue, a cellphone? Why dose a killer put so many cellphone? When she picks up the phone, she got smashed by the killer. Then the killer started to touch her while she woke up. She picked up the pipe, smash the killer down, and keep beating the killer. But the kill still survived. The most beautiful part came up, main character shoot a nail into the neck. While the killer was dying on the drill, she press the start button. At this stage everything goes the other way round, that the killer is actually being tortured, who is cold blood?

Statement of Cinemetic Flunear
Rail slider is a device that fully defined what kind of movie can be filmed. It flexible which could fit on variable width of edges of concrete, tracks, hand-rails, also strictly constraint, which will not work on flat surface(people can walk on), hand holding(eye lever), that how people not see the city normally on the pavement. It films track or any surface it contact with to present the movement of track between surrounding views as a comparison. It connects single piece of hand rail as an exciting roller coaster track which leads people into a journey of traveling around the city with a existing routine. People are getting smaller and restricted by a little dolly slider that decide what they could see. But the glory routine is designed in any way that person who films it.
Music is part of the journey as well. "music
does bring people together. It allows us to experience the same emotions. People everywhere are the same in heart and spirit. " as John Denver said. Music is playing with people's emotion by warm up, break beat, wind back, so is roller coaster. Every track going upward build up tension. When it reaches the top, suddenly drop down make people hold their breath. My movie symbolic roller coaster, roller coaster symbolic people's emotion. Film, music and roller coaster are interactive with people's emotion by the same way.
However as a experimental movie, audio shouldn't overwhelm the footage itself. Otherwise it turns into a music video, Music performs as a song, and what I did match the content of music and film is not considerable important. But footage was taken by rail slider will not affect people's exciting experience by any audio even if it standalone by the original sliding noise.
I think the device still got further development potential. It should get better realistic stimulation by 3D vision. And let everybody wearing 3D glasses with popcorn and drink watch the film. How's that gonna be? :-)

New design
I was doing solidworks of my original design on Saturday night. When I started doing dolly wheel part, I been looked up how to set up the wheel properly, then a image of roller coaster came up. It is somehow what i am after, because the position where it got track is where needed put camera in. Then I look up Youtube type in rail slider, a skateboarder slide down from the rail, which inspired me to stop making the track. Why not use whole lot track that are already there? Hand rail, deck rail. So we explore the city by how city builder wants us to.

Bend track camera holder and dolly
Firstly I came up the idea from the bullet time which take a bunch of cameras sitting in a sequences of position alone curly lines, therefore create a slow motion of 180 or 270 degree shot. I was thinking why not bring up a bend track which surround the object we are going to capture and slot a dolly in to slide left to right(up to down) which create the same shot but slow it down afterward. However we are unable to carry the whole set around city. so we decide to make a portable version of it.
version 1
A bend rectangle as track two support pipes which are able to be extend. There is a platform where to place the camera with a big wheel underneath the platform between the gap of the two pipes. So the platform could just slide from left to the right.
version 2
The equipment was attached to a backpacker. which leave you both hand free for handle camera. I found out a better way to set up the wheels from real dolly in film industry which they put two wheels each corner both angled and against the track.

Emotion of horror movie
The emotion of a horror movie is constant, the long build up making people hold their breath, than a bit wind back make people feel relief, than put the horror part of your movie, and these horror scene always come with sound effects. The emotion of the people who watch your horror movie is either like roller coaster or gradually built up.

Critique
As a cameraman, I attempt to get to know everything that could make the camera works better and the shot looks more professional. I have been research most of the technique as a cameraman need which include the lighting, types of the shot, angels of camera, but I forget the most important thing that I didn't participant to make the storyboard. That leads me in a fair awkward position, change the shots on the storyboard they been made or add a bit more my own opinion without changing the original. I picked the second one, the only valuable things I did were add two point of view shots which adds a bit tension on the screen. The rest of time I was just a rookie like "hey, is that what you mean?" after each shot.
But I still felt good about that I got how camera works in the movie. I gotta watch out what sort of shot and angel they shooting when I see the next movie. What long shot, mid-shot, and close up stand for, which basically mean establishing background, the most commonly used shot for dialogue after set the background, magnified something to emphasize a emotion or specified detail of an object.
I am also another role in the team, the sound effects editor. According to watch a few Hollywood and Japanese outstanding horror movie(Nightmare of Elm street, The ring) throughout my observation, the most thing make a movie scary is not the horror, supernatural scenes stand alone, but also the rhythm of building up tension by a increasing heartbeat, annoying scratching sound etc. or even a completely silence. They are all about the expectation and surprise, that the audience knows something gonna happen but not sure about where and when, you can suddenly stop the building up by creating a small issue like a animal pass through or a phone call, to make the audience feels relief, then use the most horror scene by the bang noise following the screaming to shock them. Otherwise If we get rid of the sound effects from the movie, it will look ridiculous, just a sequence of cutting shots.
A fairly popular visual effects in horror films, flash back transition(just like the background gets blur then quickly white flash to another scene come with a shuu noise) to represent the character had a vision or it was just a dream, or the character saw something and associated something else.

Journal for jun 2 and 3
We have done all the footage so far, and rough editing. I finally realize why shoots Hollywood movie taking so long, because 4 minutes and half rough footage took us entire 2 days and still seems not really enough. We got luck some scenes just done by 2 or 3 times, unfortunately most time we did each scene over 6 times. As a camera man, I didn't really participant into the process of making the final script and storyboard, which leads I didn't give many valuable opinion during the shooting.
I am pretty much worked out how the basic lighting(not use at all)going, camera angels, compositions,as well as different type of shots.
Each of us should have a bit sound effects, moreover I occasionally found how to make flash transition in FCP. (http://www.mattias.nu/plugins/) which is a plugin effects to add flash back transition that great for presenting people's illusion or day dream with audio effects.

Summary of camera angel and basic shots
Shots
1.Extreme long shot
is generally used as a scene-setting, establishing shot.
2.Long Shot
is generally one which shows the image as approximately "life" size ie corresponding to the real distance between the audience and the screen in a cinema
3.Medium Shot
Contains a figure from the knees/waist up and is normally used for dialogue scenes, or to show some detail of action.
4.Close-Up
This shows very little background, and concentrates on either a face, or a specific detail of mise en scĆØne. Everything else is just a blur in the background.
5.Extreme Close-Up
generally magnifying beyond what the human eye would experience in reality.
Angle
1. The Bird's-Eye view
This shows a scene from directly overhead, a very unnatural and strange angle.
2. High Angle
Not so extreme as a bird's eye view. The camera is elevated above the action using a crane to give a general overview.
3. Eye Level
A fairly neutral shot; the camera is positioned as though it is a human actually observing a scene, so that eg actors' heads are on a level with the focus.
4. Low Angle
These increase height (useful for short actors like Tom Cruise or James McAvoy) and give a sense of speeded motion.
5. Oblique/Canted Angle
Sometimes the camera is tilted (ie is not placed horizontal to floor level), to suggest imbalance, transition and instability (very popular in horror movies).

Final day
I got rid of the functions that I don't know and the switch that I can't handle. But it at least fulfilled the basic thing I asked. I really hope that I could have a little LED screen attach on my cloth. Therefore I can listen to my music with tapping the BPM counter. As long as I tap alone the beat, my cloth gonna display the tempo at my chest, that's gonna be awesome aye.
Jams email me back
I forget to change the text box at the bottom to make the two name constant. But I checked the code, it doesn't make any different to the one I sent. How can I go full screen version?
Where are you?
I asked my friend a favor to come up put my switch on. This guy didn't turn up eventually. I've never did those stuff before, I just have no idea which wire goes to which terminal of the switch, there are six terminals in one switch.
Buttons are easier, cause its only got two terminals. I found a pieces of plastic to protect the button. I stick it on a sleeve of my jacket even though it's not fashion neither strong.

Got problem for output numbers
I found out the function called render from the example patch, which is able to output text in 3D. I want to add a video on to it, but I didn't figure out how to mix render with jt mix as well as I didn't find a real slider in the store. Lets make it straight way, use the function which is already exist.
Everything is set up!
I can't wait it anymore
As I can't fix my keyboard, and it's due to next a couple of days, I decided to buy everything I need in the store, solder iron, rack, wires, and another keyboard to reconnect. That's also distract me from designing program.
Still can't get into the lab
I don't know how to test my buttons and switches unless i can sort out my keyboard. I'll see if I can hire a solder iron or borrow one. Its gonna spend 20 bucks, and they located at somewhere around manukau. I don't know if I'll go tomorrow.
Waitin for solder gun
Hoping to get back in the solder lab to fix my keyboard. Cause I just can't do anything without test on my keyboard. I'll working on the program during these days I can't do practical thing.
Loads of keyboard

First idea
The prototype of my design is CD decks which gives us the functions include fade track in and out by a slider, bpm(beat per minute) counter, as well as VJ stuff such as, adding video, the speed of the videos are depending on the tempo of the track. Moreover buttons or switches introduce effects in like fog or laser onto the video.
Summary
The wearable garment let you be able to dj while you are in the clothes which build in keyboard control board(wireless can be done the same way), once you plug usb in or connect the keyboard by the same wireless network to the computer, you can manipulate the music by the slider and know the bpm by taping the button alone the beat.

Reflective statement
We watched a video which is a women draw something on sand with music. Than Eddie said we could do something similar with ink and water. We were supposed want to use strings or ropes tie above the tank. But our robot was like move, shake and almost drop into water. Than we found cog has bigger friction. However it still slippery on the string. It's good to have a track idea coming. It took us whole day to test different martial which contained two pieces of plastic. But none of them had been cut through. At the last we found a piece of wood. The risk of use this was flame caused by the laser. Luckily it still work fine. Another problem was how to drop the ink. We were thinking about make a dropper to squeeze it out, but squeezer was to hard to make and drop too much ink at once which will pollute water entirely. Instead we got rid of those thing only drop ink by gravity. The weak point was it drops randomly sometimes will lose control. Lastly in terms of drawing a picture, so we add a arm which going to push the remote of the camera by its own that make a sequence of image that illustrate how inks dissolved in the water.

Journal
Monday
We generated a few ideas which involved water pump, sand man, spider man holding pen, and decided what we gonna bring the next day.
Tuesday
Eddie brought 2 water tanks and several fish soy sauce dropper, Brandon brought fish strings,Robert brought a wooden square and food color which got blue black red and green. We tested robot on strings. But it was not strong enough to support the robot. Afterward we combined different colors in to water see which two work well.
Wednesday
James came n told us about the laser cutter. We took the whole day to make our track. Initially laser cannot cut through the plastic. We found another wood board instead. Brandon and me went to the laser cutter room. The guy said" the wood board won't work because the track is so fine to cut by laser. Between each slot only have 1mm distance. The wood will get crunchy." The process was scary. we just stand there n see the wood were burning by the blame. Fortunately, the flame was sucked away. Finally the product was all black. But still smells good. As long as we return, our people got out from the building because of fire alarm. Brandon said" the others gonna say, yeah! we can go home. but we could go home anyway if you want."
Thursday
Finally test on our track with ink squeezer. Just fix a bit program problem. We done!
